Traditional Usui

Reiki

Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese seeker of spiritual truths, rediscovered the Reiki method of healing into human awareness in 1922, after a deeply spiritual meditation.

Reiki is a very specific form of energy healing, whereby hands are placed just off the body or by lightly touching the body.  Reiki can also be done "long distance", as a sort of prayer.  Reiki is a meditative practice that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety, and promotes a positive mental state.  Many use Reiki for pain management for a variety of conditions.

How I came to Reiki

I have been a Reiki practitioner since 1994, becoming a Reiki Master in 2000.  My Reiki Masters can trace their lineage back to Dr. Usui, through Hawayo Takata.

I first became interested when a friend with chronic pain found relief after just one Reiki session.  I took Reiki I from my first Master in Morris, NY.  Then repeated it when my 6 year old daughter wanted to take it.  Then my 10 year old son wanted to become certified, so I booked a trip to New York City, for a 4 day Reiki I & II attunement.   I received my final Master attunement on my 33rd birthday, in Ithaca, NY.

My rates are 30 minutes for $40 or 60 minutes for $75.  A  package of 5 one-hour-long sessions is $315, a savings of $60.
